Toronto FC make history as the move to Champions League

Toronto FC has made franchise history advancing to the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage for the first time after a 1-0 home win and a 2-2 away draw against Honduran squad Motagua. Toronto FC will now play in a group with Mexico's Cruz Azul, USA's and defending MLS league Champions Real Salt Lake and Panama's Arabe Unido the top two clubs in each of the four groups will advance to the quarter finals and play a home and away matchup the rest of the way until the Finals where it is winner take all.

Toronto FC add Mista and Maicon Santos to squad

Toronto FC has signed two players in the month of July adding Mista on July 6/10 and he heads over from Spain after spending his whole career there playing for the likes of Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Tenerife and Deportivo. The 31 year old striker is signed until the end of the season and is Toronto FC's second designated player. Then TFC's Mo Johnson brought in 26 year old Brazilian forward Maicon Santos on July 9/10 reuniting him with current coach Preki who coached him the past season at Chivas USA and at the same time adding to the team up front. Maicon scored his first goal for Toronto FC against FC Dallas in a 1-1 home draw.
